About Bonnie

I'm a fifth-generation Kansan, raised on a farm near Manhattan. I am a graduate of Kansas State University and Washburn University School of Law, married to a computer geek, and proud mom of three.

I am active in my community and serve on the board of directors of Omni Circle Group and Capital City Equality Center, as well as teach financial literacy courses and organize for safe, affordable, accessible housing for all. I love watching hockey, knitting, reading, and slowly killing houseplants in my spare time.

About Maize Financial

I formed Maize Financial in 2021 amid a global pandemic, an uncertain economy, and rising inequality. While fully acknowledging the difficulty of the struggles we face, I also think these conditions provide a unique opportunity to offer a new kind of financial planning. It's possible to affordably serve the working and middle classes by keeping costs low and utilizing modern technology. Anyone can make an impact with their dollars, no matter their income or net worth.

I believe:

  • everyone needs access to quality financial help, not just the wealthy
  • how we spend and invest our money has the power to shape the world around us
  • everyone deserves to be treated with respect and dignity, regardless of their background, identity, and financial situation

Maize Financial commits to:

  • making our services affordable for regular, working- and middle-class people
  • being a partner and respecting your unique goals and values
  • never pressuring you to pay for services you don't need or aren't in your best interest
  • donating a portion of our profits to organizations making a real difference
